Home learning Friday 19th April
We hope you had a restful and enjoyable Easter holiday!
We have had a great first week back this week. The trip to Fort Nelson was fantastic and the children were mesmerized by the characters who took us around the fort.
Here are this week's activities:
Reading
Please continue to read every day. This might be your reading book from school or a book from home. Don't forget, you can also log on to bug club phonics.

Spelling
This week we have been spelling words where the letter a makes an 'o' sound. Here are the words for you to practise this week...
want, watch, wander, squash, quantity, quality
Don't forget that there are lots of ways to practise your spellings in a practical way rather than just writing them with paper and pencil!!!
Maths
This week in maths we have been looking at coins. At home you could practise naming the coins. You could also create a shop and have a go at 'buying' a couple of items and adding up the prices to get a total. It would be best if you could use real money to do this but if that is not possible, you could always draw some coins.
There are also some games you can play on this page to practise recognising, ordering and adding coins...

You could also try one of these games to practise what we have learnt...

This week's task
This week's task is to find out as much as you can about Florence Nightingale (When was she born? What did she do? Why is she important?)
You might be able to remember some of the information you have learnt in school this week to explain to an adult at home.
Here are some websites that will help you find out even more about her:
