Home learning for Friday 1st March

We are looking forward to World Book Day next week. Remember you can dress up as your favourite book character on Thursday 7th March and we will be going to spend our book vouchers on Friday at Waterstones.

Don't forget that our Kings and Queens dressing up day is on Wednesday 27th March! We have learnt about a lot of different queens this week so you should have plenty of people to choose to dress up as!

Here is your home learning for this week....

Reading

As always, please read every day. This might be your reading book from school or a book from home. Don't forget, you can also log on to bug club phonics.

Spelling

This week we'd like you to recap the Year 2 common exception words that have tricky sounds in.

Here are some games you could play to practise reading and spelling these words...

You could also try picking a word you find difficult and writing it in a sentence.

Maths

Have a look at this maths problem. It's a really tricky one so you might have to use trial and error. Try it out with a certain number of coins in the first pile and if it doesn't work, think about whether you need to start with more or less coins and try again! Keep persevering until you get there!
Please email your teacher if you need some help with it!

This week's task...

Use an atlas or Google Maps to look at London and see if you can spot the landmarks we learned about through our reading of 'The Queen's hat'. If you would like to watch the story being read again, click on the link.
