Home Learning for Friday 15th March

Hello everyone! We have a few messages and reminders for the next two weeks...

Next week, the class museums will be open for you to see what the children have made in Discovery time! You can come and visit on Monday 18th March at 3pm, or on Tuesday 19th March at 8.30am. Please come to the classroom door and we look forward to seeing you then.

There are also parent's meetings after school next week so that we can discuss your child's progress. If you have not signed up for an appointment yet, then please contact the school office to get booked in!

Don't forget that on Wednesday March 27th, we are all dressing up as kings, queens, princes and princesses! These can be from any country and any period of history or those that are still alive! It must be a real royal person though and we will be discussing some facts about each person on the day so please make sure your child knows something about who they are dressing up as!

When we get back after the Easter holidays, we will be going on our next school trip. If you have not made your voluntary contribution for this yet, please contact the office to do so. It is not guaranteed that we can go until enough people make their contributions!

Thanks, as always, for all of your support with these fun activities for the children!

Reading

Please continue to read every day. This might be your reading book from school or a book from home. Don't forget, you can also log on to bug club phonics.

Spelling

In phonics this week we have been looking at what happens when you add the 'er' and 'est' suffixes to adjectives.

Can you spot which rules are being followed in your spelling words this week?

nice, nicer, nicest

brave, braver, bravest

late, later, latest

ripe, riper, ripest

Maths

This week we have been look at graphs and learning how to interpret them. Have a look at the pictogram below. Can you answer the questions about it? Remember - each piece of fruit is worth 2 children!

This video might help you if you can't remember what to do!

This week's task

On the 25th March, Hindus will be celebrating the festival of Holi! We learnt about this festival in RE this week.

Watch this video clip which tells you all about the celebration through a fun story following two children on their trip to India for their first time celebrating Holi.

Click this link here to watch the story; Let's celebrate Holi

Tell an adult at home what you have learnt about the festival of Holi this week.
