Home learning for Friday 10th July
This is our final home learning post on the blog this year! What a year it has been! Thank you for all your support with home learning. We will be having lots of fun together over our final couple of weeks. Here are some key dates for your diary:
Monday 13th 5-5:45pm - Year 2 disco
Thursday 16th July - Break the rules day (please see parentmail for information.)
Thursday 16th July 4-6 - Open evening. Come and see all the amazing work the children have been doing and visit their new classes. Please bring a plastic bag with you as this will be a good time to take home class books.
Friday 17th July - Inset day
Monday 20th July 9:30am - Sports Day
Wednesday 22nd July - Last day of term. (finish at usual time)
Have a wonderful summer break!
Please see the activities below if you would like to practise anything over the holidays...
Reading
As always, please read every day.
If you have not yet finished one of the reading rocket challenges, you can finish these over the summer and your Year 3 teacher will give you your badge or prize in September.
The library also has a summer reading challenge so there is no reason for you to stop looking at books over the holidays! You can find information about it here...
https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/
Don't forget, you can also log on to bug club phonics.

Spelling
Please practise the words you find most difficult, including writing them in your neatest handwriting!
Maths
In maths we have learnt lots of different calculation skills over the year.
If you want to practise the methods that we use for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, there are videos here that you can watch...
You might like to play one of these games once you've practised these methods...

For the fishing game you will need to choose which skill to practise. In school, we have only learnt the 2, 5, 10 and 3 times tables, so choose from one of those!
This week's task
Which things have you enjoyed about Year 2?
Is there anything that you didn’t like about Year 2 or anything you would like to change?
What advice would you give to someone who was starting Year 2 next year?
