Happy half term break! During half term many people will be celebrating the start of the Lunar New Year. This begins on Tuesday 17th February. There are lots of events in our local area that you might like to attend so that your family can also celebrate. We have had another busy week in Year 2. This past couple of weeks we have had a go at subtracting that crosses the tens boundary and telling the time using an analogue clock and writing the time digitally. Some children have found these quite tricky and so we may send home some activity sheets for your child to practise at home.  Please do not feel any pressure to complete these instantly or all in one go!  These worksheets do not need to be handed back in; they are simply a resource for you to use at home to see how your child is getting on and to support what we are doing in class. We will continue to practice these skills in school, so feel free to dip in and out of these activities whenever you have a spare moment at home. We appreciate all the ongoing support.  Don't forget! Welcome back and Happy New Year! We hope you had a restful break and managed to stay healthy! It has been lovely hearing all the children's news this week and seeing them get stuck in with our history learning. Hopefully you received a curriculum newsletter this week with the information about our new learning journey. It's going to be a busy half term! Don't forget the important dates coming up... On Thursday 5th February we will be celebrating all of our learning about monarchs with a Kings and Queens dress up day. On this day we would like children to pick a  real  king or queen to dress up as. They can be from any country and any time period in history or the current day. You can still wear your Disney princess dresses, but we’d like you to pretend to be someone real rather than fictional. Some current royals even wear ‘normal’ clothes, so you might not need a fancy dress costume at all. The important thing is that the children find out about a real king or queen and ...

Hello everyone!  We are looking forward to lots of fun and festivities next week in school. Don't forget that next Tuesday is Christmas Dinner day and you can wear a Christmas jumper. Wednesday is our Christmas party day so children can wear their party clothes to school.  The final thing to remember is that school finishes at 12.05 next Friday, and then we are back to school on Monday 5th January.
