Tuesday 16th December - Christmas dinner day (Children can wear Christmas jumpers)
Wednesday 17th December - Year 2 party day (Children can wear party clothes)
Friday 19th December - half day - school closes at 12.05

In English this week we have been looking at poetry. We have been gathering ideas and wintery words in order to create our own winter poems. We have focused on Haiku poems which have a specific amount of syllables in each line.

Maths
In maths this week we have been revising our addition skills by answering a question about adding items from a shopping list. The children have practiced using number bonds to 10 and remembering doubles to help them with this task. They have used number lines and dienes when adding independently.

Your task this week:
As we are enjoying the poetry in English, we would like you to have a look at a range of poetry and find one you really like. You could share it with someone at home or bring it into school to share with your friends.
