Maths
This week in maths we have learnt about coins and using money.
We know that you probably don't use much 'real cash' anymore when you are shopping, but it would be great if you could look at some real coins with your child this week. There are some children in Year 2 who think that 3p and 6p coins exist!
At home you could practise naming the coins. You could also create a shop and have a go at 'buying' a couple of items and adding up the prices to get a total. It would be best if you could use real money to do this but if that is not possible, you could always draw some coins.
There are also some games you can play on this page to practise recognising, ordering and adding coins...

This week’s task…
We have continued to investigate animals and their habitats in school. The children have written some lovely riddles about minibeasts we have found!
At home why don't you pick an animal that you'd like to find out about. See if you can find out some things about their habitat. How are they adapted to survive there?
This website has some great facts for you to find out...

This sheet might help you to think about how your creature is adapted...
