Home learning 7th February 2025
We've had another busy week in Year 2 and we are enjoying finding out Lunar New Year.
In class we have also been reading The Smartest Giant which will be on at Fareham Live in March. If you fancy taking a trip perhaps you might like to take a look at the following link.
Here are your home learning activities for this week...
Reading
As always, please read every day. This might be your reading book from school or a book from home. Don't forget, you can also log on to bug club phonics.

Spelling
Here are the common exception words we would like you to practise this week...
city
fancy
cycle
circle
face
Remember the rule we learnt about the letter c...
If the vowel after the C is A, O, or U, the C has a hard sound. If the vowel after the C is E, I, or Y, its sound is soft.
You can practise these however you like. Look back at our previous home learning days for ideas such as bubble writing, rainbow writing or fancy letters.
Maths
This week we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes.
Have a look below and see if you can work out the names of these 3D shapes...
(A tetrahedron is the same as a triangular based pyramid!!!)
Here are some more 3D shape activities for you to try:
Can you guess the 3D shape?

This week's task...
There are some videos here showing some of the techniques we are going to use in class. Why not have a try at some printing or collage at home? Don't forget to send us a photo of the pictures you make!
