Here are your home learning activities for this week...

As always, please read every day. This might be your reading book from school or a book from home. Don't forget, you can also log on to bug club phonics.

Spelling

The words we have learnt this week all have a 'j' sound in them but the sound is not made by the letter J! See if you can remember our new spelling patterns and write some sentences with these words in...

village

huge

age

badge

edge

bridge

Maths

This week we have been learning all about shapes. Watch this video to remind yourself about the properties of 2d shapes...

There is also a shape pattern game you can try here...

You might like to make your own picture by drawing different 2d shapes.

Then if you'd like a challenge, you could try this tangram game where you have to make new shapes from a variety of 2d shapes...

This week's task

Next week is Children's Mental Health Week so perhaps you might like to visit the Coram website and try some of the activities on the parents' page

Or, why not have a go at the following activity.

Drawing to music

A great way to relax is to listen to music, it can sometimes make us feel calm, sad, happy, or excited! Have a go at drawing to music. Listen to a piece of instrumental music (music without words) and simply draw what you feel whilst the music is playing. You may want to close your eyes (be careful not to draw on the table!) Your drawing may just look like squiggles but you are drawing the journey of the music. There may be some quiet parts, or loud parts, how would that look on your page?

Here is Mrs Reid's drawing when she listened to a piece of music. Can you tell which parts of the song were loud or fast? Now you have a go!
