Happy Friday!

We hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend. Here are your tasks for this week...

As always, please email us if you need anything!  (year2@whiteleyapps.com)

Reading

Please continue to read every day. This might be your reading book from school or a book from home. Don't forget, you can also log on to bug club phonics.

Spelling

Our spellings this week are words that are plurals (more than one of something.) We have looked at words that end in y and how they change to plurals.

fly, flies

carry, carries,

baby, babies

lady, ladies

This week you could have a go at the activities on BBC bite size linked to plurals. Click this link to access the activities; https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/z3dw4xs

Maths

This week we have been continued solving multiplication and division calculations.

If you want to see the methods that we use for multiplication and division, there are the videos again that you can watch.

Here are some games that you might like to try once you've practiced some multiplication and division at home...

For the fishing game you will need to choose which skill to practise. In school, we have only learnt the 2, 5, 10 and 3 times tables, so choose from one of those!

This week's activity...

This week in science we have been looking at different materials that things are made from. Have a look around your house. What can you find that is made from plastic, metal, wood or glass? Can you describe each of the materials? Are they hard / rough / smooth / transparent / absorbent / waterproof?

Then think about these ideas...
